day 11

Only 10 more days! It's the final countdown. Over halfway through. Whew.  Still holding out at a loss of 4 pounds, that is starting to bother me. How can I sip juice, tea, water and soup all day and NOT LOSE WEIGHT? I must admit, it probably has something to do with Applebees. The saving grace in all this is that I feel so darn good physically.

Picked up some Bolthouse Green Goodness to replace the green powder drink I have almost finished the canister (thankfully, yech).

Now I need your advice, blog followers. I am seriously craving protien and not doing so well sticking to the detox plan. It always gets to me around 7 or 8pm, maybe the fiber from the perfect cleanse wasn't so bad after all. It certainly filled me up. I started adding in protien, in the form of beans added to the free soups, yesterday I had scrambled eggs in the morning, and yesterday afternoon and this evening I had a whey protien shake. Even with having a protien shake around 5pm, I was craving protien at 7pm. So I had 2 slices of deli turkey and 2 pieces of sharp cheddar cheese. And it tasted salty and good. Then 2 hours later (about 10 minutes ago) I was, once again, desperately searching the fridge for protien, and considered making myself a tuna salad. Instead I took my fiber capsules and all the other pills for the Whole Body Cleanse. Downed a cup of lukewarm lemon tea and two glasses of water. That took the edge off. I feel like a bit water logged. I am halfway through! I really want to finish this detox. I am thinking maybe adding back the little bits of protien have done more harm than good. I don't ever remember feeling ravenously hungry before. Actually, it isn't that I feel that hungry it is just a really strong craving. I might try and get back to the strict schedule tomorrow and get a big pot of tomato soup on early in the morning. Skip the protien for the last ten days (except for bean soups). What do you think? Any suggestions? Grandma, have you noticed that your hunger or cravings increased when you added back the protien?

If I am going to end the detox early I want to do it the right way and slowly introduce healthy foods back into my schedule. So this is something I have to make a decision about. Either end thedetox or stop cheating.  Again, I really want to finish this out. I feel so good and would like to lose more weight and really get my digetsive system working better.

Speaking of digestion, the Whole Body Cleanse has waaay too many pills to swallow. Week one is 4 in the morning and 8 at night. 3 of those 8 are huge "horse pills" and this is my second day using this system, it didn't really do much to regulate me today. I hope things start moving tomorrow. I get my 64oz of filtered water in everyday. And I am not including the water I use for teas or powdered mixes in with that amount. I have a 64oz jug and I refill and refill and refill my glass til it is "all done" as baby says.

I await your wisdom and trouble-shooting.

  1. I am DONE with 7 day detox/cleanse and have finished the 4 days of reintroducing REGULAR healthy foods. So much enjoyed 3 ounces of chicken, rice, and a salad last night. AND I STILL HAVE KEPT THAT 7 IN 7 OFF.

My plan is to use weight watchers point system to guide me into total amount of food to consume. Their new plan allows ZERO points for fruits and vegies so all I have to worry about is figuring points for my protien, carbs, and fats. My typical daily food plan is to have the prune/apple slush drink, green tea, and fruit berry juice for breakfast. I may need an egg sandwich for breakfast, but so far I feel full and energetic after the apple/prune stuff, followed by berry fruit drink. Have vegie juice at 10 am, then have fresh vegie salad (from my garden) and a protien drink (until the bottle is gone) for lunch. Have a fruit drink at 2:30 and vegie drink at 4:30 then a regular healthy meal consisting of protien, vegies, and starch.

Grandma's advise: personally speaking...no I am not craving protien. Don't get me wrong...I'm gonna be glad when the protien drink is gone and I can put a couple of ounces of chicken and wisconsin cheese on that salad for lunch, but having 3 ounces of grilled chicken and 1/2 cup of rice last night was plenty for me. I used the last of my fiber last night so maybe tonight will be different. Hopefully this plan will work for me.

This morning I made enough vegie juice and fruit juice for the day and put it in those cute little plastic drink containers I scabbed from JP. NOTE: If you make the fruit juice first finishing with apple you can go ahead and make the vegie drink without cleaning the juicer. You know I'm all about efficiency. ;-) Of course I didn't think of this until I was in the middle of making the vegie juice FIRST. Yeah...garlic in my fruit juice? NO THANKS! okay...that's my thought for the day. Still feeling great with plenty of energy. Better get to work at my day job before I get fired!

  2. oh...I made a fresh green vegie drink and mixed it 1/2 with walmart brand vegie tomato juice. Walmart vegie juice has salt, but I'm not going to totally give up salt anyway. It make a really, really, tasty drink which is very similar to V8. With the price of fresh vegies I cannot justify buying a bushel of tomatoes after my 7 day detox is over.

  3. Hello everyone,
Okay, I need help! I typed my response, forgot to save it and I even logged onto Gmail and it again didn't work. :-)

I'll try my best to type what I wrote but again, it will be shorter. Before I forget, here is a soup we are currently making. We are not sure about the taste so we'll let you know!! Here it is.

    Cabbage Blend

    4 cups of water
    4 cups of cabbage
1 large onion ( Sautee first)
    Handful of carrots
    Handful of cauliflower
    ¼ northwood steaks seasoning
    Hint of basil
    Hint of chili powder
    Hint of cayenne
    Salt
    Pepper

Overall, we're doing well. Tonight we didn't get to the coffee enema. :-( It got too late with so much to do and get to the voting booth, too. Yet we did get a walk in which was awesome! Tonight we'll try to use our brush and warm/cool shower and the chi machine. :-) We are really enjoying the chi machine. Jenny, you are more than welcome to come & visit and try it out. ;-)

The difficult part is walking outside of our apartment & smelling buttery popcorn and someone grilling! :-( Yet we're plugging away and trying to ignore those smells!! and walk to the car very quickly! :-)

well, I should get going for now everyone! God bless you!! You're all in our prayers!!!
