Day 16

Happy Moment of the day:  I tried on a skirt I haven't worn since February and found that it is no longer tight around my waist. Actually it looks and feels quite nice :) I am weaaring it to Mass tomorrow!

Sad Moment of the day: I tried on my wedding ring and found that my ring finger is not quite thin enough yet. At least I can still wear my diamond ;) Why did I crack my knuckles all those years? And why did I eat all those pancakes my first year of marriage? Because it felt good at the time.

Saddest Moment of the day: Realizing I only have five more days of this.
Just Kidding!!! So excited to chew. To plan real meals again, to start a new way of eating healthy, non-processed, nourishing food. And the challenge of making it palatible for my dear hubby and baby.

As for weight, I gained yesterday's lost pound back, so it is 5 pounds total. Seems like that might be my cross, all the work and minimal weight loss. But I do feel better, have dropped to a lower size and I am really excited about eating salads. I think I'll stick to Grandma's schedule initially, since it worked so well for her.

Now I have some laundry calling my name. Good night all :)

  1. Hello Detoxers and Friends! :-)

Joseph and I had our second colonic on Saturday and it went very well!! It started off slow so I was a little disappointed at first yet it didn't take much time after that. Chris believed I was taking gunk away from the lining of my colon! That was SO exciting to hear!!! :-) We'll have our final colonic next Saturday.

Thanks to Jenny for some yummy tomato dill soup, we just made some for us. It was quite tasty. We also tried the carrot/ginger/apple juice! We both really enjoyed that.

So here we are on day 8. We're doing pretty good yet definitely looking forward to making some healthy meals in the Nourishing Traditions Cookbook! Currently we have the carrot soup simmering on the stove. That is going to be dinner. I'll let you know how that one tastes.

We are finally going to do an enema this week. Oh, after we left La Crosse yesterday, we went to my parent's house for a detoxifying bath! It was very relaxing which is was very good. We even ran out of hot water! My dad said that never happened so towards the end we had to boil some water. :-)

    We will keep plugging away!
Congratulations Jenny on your last week!! Mrs. Hess, it sounds like you are doing very well and had many benefits!!! Are you sure you don't want to come to WI again for another colonic?! :-)

    God bless you all!

  2. In following JP's lead...

Saddest moment of the day: Discovering I have an allergy to mangoes. ;-( I started having tiny bumps at the corners of my lips and inside my mouth, then it progressed to my cheeks and chin area. I'm thinking "oh great, I just detoxed and now I will have to take medicine". I even thought maybe I had eaten some poison ivy with my lettuce juice. Thank the Lord, I had the sense to google "mango allergy", even tho I had eaten a mango 3 days prior to any symptoms. sure enough, mango allergies don't show up for a couple of days after being in contact with them. I am very sad tho because I LOVED that mango relish that I put on my "first salad". The sweet/spicy taste over fresh greens is really wonderful.

Happiest moment of the day: I lost 1/2 pound. I think this means that it is now official that I won't regain anymore of the weight I lost during my 7 day detox. I have been such a girl scout since coming off detox and still I initially gained one pound. Held constant that one pound gain until this morning.

Second happiest moment of the day: Finding out that mango allergies are primarily due to the oil in the skin of the mango. So, hopefully if Cliff can wash the mango with warm water and soap immediately when we buy them, then peel them for me I will not have to deal with this swollen lips and face again. This stuff really burns. Speaking of allergies, better keep the mangoes away from little ones, until they are peeled anyway. ;-)

Eager to hear how son-in-law did with the mini-detox JP, and congrats on the loose skirt!

  3. Grandma, thanks for the mango warning, I don't think princess has tasted mango yet. And congrats on that half a pound. Gives us all hope!

Bulchers, sounds like my kind of bath, using all the hot water!
