Day 21

YEAH!! Happy dance! (think Snoopy)

Tomorrow I get "real" food. Though not a lot of it, but I am heading for meals soon enough. I'll be sure to let you all know how coming off the detox goes for me. I do plan to work out for an hour every day, as soon as I am eating meat again. And I also plan to continue to avoid refined carbohydrate (wheat) and sugars. I still have about 25 pounds I'd like to lose and that is going to take some effort. But if there is one thing I have learned with all this detoxing, it is that I do have the strength to resist foods that do not nourish me.

I am most excited about all the free time I will have since I am not going to be consumed with prep work for this crazy detox. Transitioning to the Nourishng Traditions cook book should be a little easier now. It is lots of prep work, but nothing compared to this schedule!

I am off to bed for tonight, Good Night to all :)

You did it!!! I look forward to seeing how you're doing!!

Well, I experienced my first enema last night! It was an experience. I felt crampy for awhile just like during the colonic. I won't go into too many details. :-)

We are continuing with the soups. It is definitely difficult with all of the time that it consumes yet being Lent, it helps out SO much! This has been our Lent and we only have a week left after Saturday.

I look forward to using the Nourishing Traditions Cookbook too! I can't wait to try the soups with all of the ingredients. :-)

My hands are getting better. I have been putting Vitamin E oil on them throughout the day. I really enjoy using the rebounder! I got in my 20 minutes this morning in between loads of laundry and cleaning. I hope to get some taebo in for the last week. We'll see how that goes. The energy that I have had has been wonderful! Overall, I feel really good!

Tomorrow is our last colonic in La Crosse. Jenny, I'll let you know what our plans is for tomorrow. We have to talk about it tonight. :-)

Congratulations again Sue and Jenny!!! :-) Way to go!! Sue, how is it going being off of it for quite some time? Are you still able to keep the weight off?

    Signing off for now...

    Sarah ;-)

  2. Jenny, may we have a copy of your brocolli soup recipe where you added parsnip?! We're looking for soups that we haven't had yet the squash/tomato is still my favorite. :-) Did any of you try the garlic soup in the Nourishing Traditions? If so, how did you like it? I think we're going to do that next week.

    Have a great night!

  3. oops, didn't really follow a recipe for the broccoli soup. Try brocoli, onion, one stalk of celery, maybe a carrot, oh and cauliflower. I probably threw in some of my "country blend" herbs. Just don't put parsnips in it ;)

We did try the garlic soup, but it was really, really watery. Probably because we left out the potatoes! But maybe cauliflower would be a good replacement to bulk up the garlic soup!

Keep up the good work, you are almost finished!!

  4. Jenny, how is it going? I am still totally amazed that my energy level and "state of mind" is so high! I feel great!

I decided it was time to return to my weight watchers group. I'm a lifetime member, and hadn't weighed since Feb 2nd. So...when I stepped on the scales Saturday, they were like..."what? you've lost 11 1/2 pounds since Feb". I told Grandpa that when I finally started loosing again after the detox I would return to WW and get weighed. So...I am exactly 2 pounds from my goal of 150 by June 1st! Very, very happy about that. I do realize tho that I don't want to have that 150 as my permanent goal, so I'm gonna continue "doing what I'm doing" as I feel so very good and energetic anyway.

I have continued to stew the apple/prune/cinnamon drink for breakfast. I eat the fruit and pour the juice in the pot of brewing green tea. Pretty tasty with a little stivea. I make the fruit juice out of apples, blackberries (from my garden), grapes, and strawberries. That's breakfast. Then I have a green vegie juice mid morning, which is lettuce, celery, carrots, little garlic. This should equal 1 cup, and I pour another cut of store bought vegie blend like V-8 with it. It's rather good. For lunch it's usually a lettuce salad with black beans and 1 ounce of grilled chicken. Topped with pico del gallo and a tablespoon of sour cream. Dinner is normally grilled something with vegies and a carb like rice, corn, or potato.

This week I am going to write down everything I am eating and figure the "points" that ww counts toward the food I consume. Not to difficult since fruit and vegies are ZERO points! When I told Grandpa about loosing 11 1/2 pounds according to ww, he asked if I told them I lost all that weight because I ate ZERO points for one week! ;-)

I think maybe the key to this energy level is the amount of fruits and vegies I'm consuming from the juicer. Well, that and a clean colon, which equates to a clean body. Now to work on keeping the soul as clean as the body....if it were only that easy.

Have a Holy, Healthy, Happy Week ladies preparing ourselves for the Highest Celebration this coming weekend.
